What is a UIFN
UIFN stands for Universal International Freephone Number. Often referred to as a universal toll free number. It is a unique freephone service that allows just one number to be provisioned in approx 50 countries.
The UIFN Format
A UIFN number typically starts with +800 followed by 8 digits.
As an example a UIFN could be +800 12345678. The initial access code dialled can differ dependant on country you are accessing the number within.
How do you get a UIFN
Depending on the carrier, a current list of available countries will be provided. You can also choose what countries are required for your business and have these provisioned only. This could be subject to a minimum amount of countries required.

As UIFN is a one number solution for multiple countries it can take longer to implement. Therefore, you can expect lead-times to be longer than other number types. It can be up to 90 working days dependant on the country and associated carrier. However, countries are often handed over independently as and when they go live.
